Consultation Questionaire

A Consultation questionaire has been made available for the Island residents to complete, which may be downloaded, completed online or via a hardcopy (which was made available in the Isle of Wight County Press on 12 January 2006); the quesetionaire was created by Opinon Research Services Ltd..

The report document referred to on the questionaire is the Fire Options Appraisal Report produced at the request of the Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service and Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service, following instructions from the Department of Communities and Local Government (DCLG): www.communities.gov.uk . The Department for Communities and Local Government was formed following the break-up of the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister (John Prescott) in 2006, with reponsibility for the Fire and Rescue Services transferred to the newly created department.

The current minister in charge of the Department Communities and Local Government is Ruth Kelly MP, with Angela Smith MP as the current Fire Service minister..

ERROR ON QUESTIONAIRE

2006/01/13: It has come to light, as reported by Isle of Wight Radio (www.iwradio.co.uk) on Friday 12 January 2007, that there is an error on the front page of the printed and downloadable consutlation questionaire.

The website link on the front page shows the address as ors.co.uk and not ors.org.uk (the exact correct link can be found below).

The questionaire was issued by Opinon Research Services Ltd. as part of the consultation process.

It has subsequently be found that there is also an error on page 2, question 6, where there are no boxes to allow the public to answer the question.

We estimate that approximately 45,000 to 50,000 of these questionaires have been printed.
